Event Description: FIFE INTERFAITH GROUP is happy to invite you to a public talk by Dr Neil Douglas-Klotz in celebration of the 2013 Scottish Interfaith Week.
Neil is the co-founder of the Edinburgh International Centre for Spirituality and Peace and the Edinburgh Festival of Middle Eastern Sprituality and Peace, now in its’ 11th year. He is the author of several books, including Desert Wisdom, The Tent of Abraham and The Hidden Gospel. He is the past chair of the Mysticism Group of the American Academy of Religion and a longtime member of the Scientific and Medical Network UK.
Faith, religion, sectarianism, science, spirituality and secularity are all contested fields of dialogue today. How do we help bridge this vast territory in order to create and maintain communities that can share an ethical, compassionate view of life? Neil will share some of his experience from thirty years in the field of interfaith and interspiritual work, particularly in relation to Middle-eastern traditions.
